If you know Douglas, you know he is an angel mixed with a touch of east coast coyote. He is always the favorite of the pack, with his handsome generic mutt features and loving personality. He’s great at stealing hearts and food.
If you don’t know Doug personally, know that he is loyal and has an endless amount of love to give. He started life as a stray and we adopted him in 2015. He has a certain swagger when he walks due to a rear leg injury that healed improperly before we met him. His tail was detached from his spine and he had heart-worms and a disease from a tick bite. He also had a mineral mass in his stomach probably from eating off of rocks. Douglas has lived the life of a traveling king since 2015. Moving with us across NC and then across the United States. Everywhere we went, he was the one that got all the attention. He deserved every bit of it, too.
Doug now has doggy dementia and a cataract that is not doing well. He has had multiple vet visits in the last month all leading to the decision that his eye needs to be removed. They want to take it next week (December 1st) and we need help affording this procedure if we hope to do it soon. His estimate is $2178.00-$2596.09.
If you’ve ever known and had love for Douglas, he could really use some help right now!
