Support Doug Orr's Critical Stroke Recovery
Donation protected
Our dear friend Doug Orr is in the fight of his life after suffering a stroke on 7/21/2025. The stroke has left him critically ill, and he is currently in the ICU in a medically induced coma and on a ventilator. The doctors have tried several times to remove him from the ventilator, but his body is not yet strong enough to sustain breathing on its own for more than a couple of hours.
Doug has faced more than his share of hardships this past year. He tragically lost his husband last year, and soon after, he endured a period of unemployment. To make matters worse, Doug does not have health insurance. Now, as he battles for his life, the financial stress is overwhelming.
We are trying to raise enough funds to cover several months of Doug’s mortgage, car payments, and insurance so that he does not lose his home or car while he is hospitalized. When he is able to recover, Doug will also need a new insulin pump, as a malfunction in his previous pump contributed to dangerously high blood sugar levels and ultimately to his stroke.
Doug faces a long and challenging road to recovery. He will likely remain in the hospital for several more weeks and will then require physical rehabilitation. Even in the best-case scenario, he will be unable to work for weeks—possibly months—while he regains his strength.
Doug is a kind, resilient, and loving soul who has always been there for others in times of need. Now, it’s our turn to show up for him.
Please consider donating to help cover Doug’s living expenses and medical needs during this incredibly difficult time. Every contribution, big or small, will make a huge difference in ensuring Doug has a stable home and the tools he needs to recover.
If you are unable to donate, please share this campaign with your friends and family. Let’s come together to give Doug the support and hope he needs to heal.
Please help us help Doug!
