We’re reaching out on behalf of my dad, Doug Lackey — a beloved father, mentor, and friend to so many in our community.

My dad has spent his life lifting others up. Whether through his work with athletes and their families, his steady presence at community events, or his quiet acts of kindness behind the scenes, Doug is the kind of man who leads with integrity and heart. Anyone who knows him will tell you: he’s the first to offer help, encouragement, or just a listening ear.

Now, my dad needs our support.

He has been in and out of the hospital for the past two weeks, and will be staying in patient at least through the weekend. After that, he faces a serious medical procedure and a lengthy months long recovery process. As you can imagine, the emotional and financial toll is significant. He has been unable to work since falling ill and he won’t be able to until he is fully healed. Luckily he is insured so his medical costs are covered, but the costs of travel and lost wages are adding up quickly.

My dad would be upset if he knew we were making a go fund me. He is very prideful and he is always aiming to help others. But in his time of need, his family will do what’s necessary. I hope you can understand the need behind this.
