Hi my name is Paige Fugate, I am raising funds for a home back up generator for my amazing parents (Diana and Doug Fugate). We had a very traumatic and unexpected event happen that has called for us to reach out for help.

On June 16th my mother found my father unresponsive and we had to administer CPR. He spent a week in ICU at Miami Valley Hospital where we found out he is in end stage Heart Failure. We were told the only option that he had was to get an LVAD (heart pump) in order to survive. He made the decision to FIGHT to stay with his family!!

On June 20th he was air lifted to The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati where he has been receiving extraordinary care. He had to have emergency surgery upon arrival due to the weakness of his heart. They placed a temporary pump in his heart to keep it beating while waiting to have the LVAD surgery (open heart surgery).

In order for the device to work it MUST have a power source connected to him 24/7. This means my father must be plugged directly into the house outlet while sleeping or by batteries connected to a drive port extending out from his abdomen. Both require power. THIS KEEPS HIS HEART PUMPING AT ALL TIMES!! The home generator would give my family peace of mind knowing that in the event of a power outage my father's heart will keep pumping and he will stay safe.

Donations will also be used for medical expenses such as, equipment/supplies, medical bills, required medication, and LVAD accessories used when wearing the batteries. We want to make my father's recovery less stressful for him and improve his quality of life. Our family has a long road to recovery and every penny donated helps to keep my family together a little longer.
