Support Doug Brown: A Beloved Park City Hockey Referee Fighting Stage 4 Cancer
If you’ve laced up skates in Park City—youth or adult—there’s a good chance you know Doug Brown. Doug has been a fixture in the Utah hockey community for years, refereeing countless games with fairness, professionalism, and a smile that makes the rink feel like home.
Now Doug needs our support.
Doug was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer. He has undergone surgery and is currently undergoing aggressive chemotherapy. While he faces this battle with the same courage and determination he shows on the ice, the financial burden is overwhelming—medical bills, loss of work during treatment, and the day-to-day costs of simply trying to heal.
Who Doug Is to Us
- A dedicated hockey referee serving Park City and Utah for many years
- Member of the Wasatch Ice Hockey Officials Association (WIHOA)
- Honored in 2024 as a member of the prestigious “200 Club” for officiating over 200 games in one year
- Known as the official who consistently works the most games—because he loves the sport and supporting our players
- A familiar, friendly face to so many youth and adult players who count on him to keep the game safe, fair, and fun
Why We’re Coming Together
Doug has given so much to our community. He’s been there for our kids’ first goals, our adult league rivalries, and countless memories made at the rink. Now it’s our turn to show up for him.
Any donation—big or small—will make a meaningful difference in helping Doug focus on what matters most: his fight against cancer and his recovery.
