We are reaching out to ask for support for retired Law Enforcement Officer Doug Bell Sr. who dedicated his life to serving others as a first responder. Shortly after retiring from a long and honorable career, he was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), a progressive disease that has already begun to change daily life for him and our family.
In just the past two months, out-of-pocket medical expenses have already exceeded $10,000, and he will soon be facing the need for a specialized wheelchair that will cost approximately $40,000. We have explored every available avenue for grants and assistance, but unfortunately, we have run into roadblocks at each turn.
As his needs grow, so do the challenges. Donations will go directly toward essential medical equipment, home modifications to make his space safe and accessible, and help us provide him with the comfort and care he deserves.
If you’re able to give, no matter the amount, it would mean so much to our family. If not, sharing this message is just as appreciated. Thank you for supporting someone who has spent his life supporting others.
