I am Chief Taylor Holsapple with the Cadiz Police Department. I am here asking for help to support one of our local heroes, Doug Barker, a reserve officer for the Town of Cadiz. He donates his time to help keep everyone safe in the town.

Doug was on duty on 11/02/25 and was on the side of the road. He was outside his vehicle when a car struck him and his patrol vehicle. As a result, Doug suffered serious injuries, and he was airlifted to a hospital in Indianapolis. Doug had to have hip surgery, and that means he will be off work and have a long road to recovery. He does not have medical insurance and won't receive a paycheck for the next 3-6 months while he recovers. We are trying to help keep the financial burden off his shoulders so he can focus on recovery without worrying about how he will eat and pay the bills that are yet to come.
