Support Doug Allen's Stroke Recovery & Heart Surgery

Hello Everyone I am Doug Allen's Stepdaughter, Teyana. I have set up this Go Fund Me for Doug and my mom, Jackie, to receive blessings from family and friends, as they work through this unplanned Health Adventure.
Here are the deets ~
On Aug 1st Doug had a stroke, and was transported to St. Mary's ICU in Duluth. They discovered the source of the stroke was an infection on his heart valve so put him on a very strong antibiotic while he was recovering from the stroke. Then they will deal with the source of the infection.
Unfortunately, the stroke caused him to lose the ability to speak and the left side of his body to be paralyzed. Once he was out of the ICU, Doug began physical and speech therapy. He is doing great! We have had many tiny victories! Praise God!
ℹ~ On Monday, the 5th, a test revealed the source/cause of Doug's stroke. His mechanical heart valve had a vegetative growth on it from infection. A piece broke off to cause the stroke. The infection was in his blood so they shot him up with powerful antibiotics and defeated that quickly. Yay! (tiny victories)
They also had to wean him off of the blood thinner medicine he has been on for years to get his INR (blood clotting ability) to a higher level so he could have surgery to remove the old valve and put in a new one.
‼‼ (8/15) ~ Doug was transported to U of M in Minneapolis (9pm)!
Good NEWS ~ Doug's Angiogram today showed awesome results, all his blood vessels are clear and looking strong and all stents are good too! YAY!
‼‼ (8/17) ~ Ok y'all, Doug has made it to the U of M safe and snug. He is still progressing well in his recovery! His feeding tube is finally out and he is eating on his own! Praise God!
(8/20) HEART SURGERY SCHEDULED!!!
(8/21) HEART SURGERY FINISHED!!!
Woooooo hoooooooo! Praise God!
And!!! AND!! They put in a pigskin valve instead of a mechanical one so he no longer has be on Blood Thinners yall!!!! Yayyyyyyyy!!!!
(8/22) Doug needed 3 pints of blood last night because his blood was not coagulating fast enough. BUT, IT IS NOW! YAY! However, he did need another quick surgery to clean out the pools of blood around his heart and lungs because of the blood drainage. He is doing good, but he is on several machines until his vitals stabilize. He will be in the ICU until that happens and then transferred back to the cardiac ward.
As of right now, he has a temporary pacemaker instead of a new permanent one, because there is a suspicious area on one of his lungs that should be resolved with antibiotics. They won't put the new pacemaker in until it is resolved. He was on the lung machine at 100% yesterday, but today is already at 70%. So he is improving.
(8/23) Today Doug is still in ICU, He is still not 100% stabilized, but he is getting there.... they are hoping by Monday, he should be stabilized enough to transfer back to the Cardiac Ward.
I will continue to update his status on this page as quickly as possible!
Thank you all so very much for all the Prayers, Love, Support and Help received so far! My mom was able to stay with a relative of a friend in Hastings for most of the time, however will need other accommodations soon, before the end of the month. She is also travelling back and forth from Chisholm to the Hospitals when necessary. And of course, neither of them will have any income this month as they have both been unable to work obviously. So ANYTHING will help!!!
Thanks again everyone, we are immensely grateful!
