I lost my family dog, Sophie, 3 years ago this Sunday (10/12) -- I'm trying to do my best to make sure we don't have a double anniversary to honor this weekend for Dottie.

I know there's plenty of causes you could give your money to -- my friend Blizz is battling cancer , my friend Jimmy's husband has been detained by ICE -- and yet still I need to ask for your help, because I need it.

I'm not sure how much this is going to cost me -- I'm already out $1500 from yesterday's vet visit -- but the estimate I got was at least $7,000 for a proper hospitalization to treat Dottie's bladder stones (that's if everything goes well). Urinary issues are really dangerous for cats, if they can't pee it's bad news, and he hasn't peed on his own in 24 hours since getting an emergency catheritization to unobstruct his bladder yesterday. I couldn't afford the hospitalization yesterday when it was presented as an option at the urgent care vet, so I took the only gamble I could afford on a "unobstruct and go" procedure where the likelihood of a reobstruction was very likely. I hate that I had to take a gamble, and it didn't pay off -- I won't make the same mistake twice, but I can't do it alone. I'm trying to work more these days but I'm in tremendous debt and this scale of emergency is entirely undoable without your help.

If you know me you know Dottie means the world to me -- I remember the night before I got him I had the thought, "this will be the last night I ever spend completely alone" (living alone gets intense). He's been there for me through some of the lowest parts of my life and I'm trying to re-pay him the favor.
