Support My Journey To Walk Again Grade 3 Avulsion Injury

Hey guys. It’s Dorothy, but many of you know me as Ticia or DolphinFly. Unfortunately, I had an accident on February 14, 2025. I slipped and fell on some ice, and both of my legs went in opposite directions, and I heard something snap. I couldn’t move, couldn’t crawl, couldn’t walk… nothing. It was 17 degrees that day as I laid in the snow for 45 minutes, yelling for help almost to the point of hypothermia before someone found me. And out of nowhere, a lady riding down the street pulled over, asked if I needed help, covered me with her coat as I lay there crying, and called the ambulance for me. I thought I was paralyzed. They did EKGs, ultrasounds, CAT scans, checked for pulmonary embolism (blood clots), X-rays, and finally an MRI. Three of my muscles came completely off the bone of my hamstring and detached from the femur and pelvic, which also caused my sciatic nerve and tailbone to be exposed. It’s mentally and physically taking a toll on me because I’m used to my independence. I’ve been on bed rest for 3 months now, waiting for the scar tissues and ligaments to heal on the inside before I can start physical therapy. I’m not able to walk, drive, or work at all. And I still have 5 more months of recovery time to go. I’m still in excruciating pain and taking 12 medications on top of my epilepsy. Hopefully, I’ll be able to start physical therapy in April. My surgeon said that my recovery time, at a minimum, is expected to be anywhere from 4-8 months depending on how my body progresses, and I’m 5 months in so far. As I await my disability pay to take effect, which is a very long process, I really could use your help and support to be able to get the things I need that insurance doesn’t cover. I have all the DME equipment that’s necessary as of now, but I need help with medical bills, outpatient therapy, and other medical supplies that I wasn’t able to get on my Amazon Wish List, as well as certain prescriptions that weren’t covered by my insurance.
