Hello Friends!

My dear friends Dorita & David Reyen had a recent vet emergency with their dear boy kitty Scunner. Here are her words describing his ordeal:

"Our little Scunner boy could really use some prayers and healing mojo right now. A few days ago we noticed his right eye was bulging. Took him to the vet and they said that he had glaucoma and would probably need to have his eye removed. But they wanted to do some blood work first to be sure he was healthy enough to handle the surgery. On Thursday we noticed a hole in his eye so back to the vet. It seems his eye broke open just a bit, just enough to let some of the built up fluids out. And it was starting to heal over. Vet said take him home and keep an eye on him.

After dinner David looked at his eye and said, "looks like his eye went." Not to be too graphic, but there was a lot of "stuff" coming out of his eye.

The nearest emergency vet is almost an hour away. We grabbed our coats and left.

An hour later we got the news that there was little left of his eye and they would have to finish removing it and then stitch the lids closed.

So that's where he is now, and we are here waiting for a phone call to tell us how he is.

We won't talk about how much this is costing. But he's our fur baby and we want him as healthy as he can be.

So please send prayers for his recover

Thanks

Peace

Later:

"Our little Scunner is back home and resting. He had glaucoma and last night his eye ruptured and had to be removed. We took him to the emergency vet, (45 minutes away) and left him overnight. He's back home now, disoriented but resting. We are just glad that he is ok."

Though Scunner is ok, his treatment came at a cost that is a hardship to David & Dorita. They are artists and Festival season is months away when they make most of their yearly income. Other friends and family have chipped in, but there is more to cover. If you would like to consider supporting them by purchasing some of their lovely work, or a gift certificate for their work, please consider that as an option.
