Hi all! My name is Lauren Tinman. I am a parent of two children who benefit greatly from the love and care that Ms. Doris White provides at Shandon Weekday School and Shandon Presbyterian Church.

Ms. Doris has been serving the children and families of Shandon for almost 37 years! She has devoted her life to taking care of generations of children. She has provided love, care, stability, and a soft place to land for HUNDREDS of children over the years. There are parents who drop their children off to Doris at SWS who were in her class 35 years ago!

Not only is Ms. Doris kind and loving, she is also a very hard worker. Up before dawn to get to school and welcome our babies to a warm and inviting classroom. I'll never forget the first day I dropped my children off at SWS and Doris was on the playground equipment on her hands and knees, drying everything with a towel because it was slightly damp from the day before! Her dedication to the care of our children is simply incredible!

Unfortunately, Ms. Doris was in a car accident on August 12, 2024. The other drive ran a red light and Ms. Doris' car was totaled. She took some time off work to recover physically, and she is in need of our support now! Doris didn't want me to start this Go Fund Me, she said "I have more than most people, I am thankful and will work hard and pray". After two weeks of convincing her by telling her how thankful we are for her and how much this community loves her, she finally relented. She has given so much to us over the years, I know this community will rally around Ms. Doris and help her in a time of need! Every little bit will help! Thank you all!
