Dorié's Road to Recovery After Tragic Accident

Dorié is a devoted mother of 10 children, and a widow to Tom Buchanan, a well-known and loved pillar of the Colorado community. She has made unending sacrifices for others for decades, and now, in her greatest hour of need, it's time that the energy she has put out into the world comes back to her.

On May 7th, Dorié had a horrific accident and has broken her ankle in two places, as well as another break higher up on her leg. She underwent surgery on Monday, May 19th, which consisted of several screws between the bones, as well as a permanent mesh to hold the ligament between them together. She has a long, painful road to recovery ahead of her.

Her home is not handicap accessible, and it is crucial that she not be alone during her healing process. Because of this, she has been staying at her daughter Mary's house since the accident, and there she will likely stay well into summer, or as long as it takes for her to recover. There will be many months of physical therapy necessary in order to be able to walk right again as well.

Because of her injuries, Dorié is now unable to work, and bring in the income that she desperately needs to pay her continuing bills. There is no way of knowing how long it will be until she is fully healed or if she will heal fully. On top of this, there are necessary services that Medicare will not cover. Without her ability to work jeopardized indefinitely, Dorié will need as much money as we can raise.
