This GoFundMe page is for my friend Doreen Carminati and her daughter Aurora. Aurora has been fighting a serious illness since last year. This March, her sickness reached a pinnacle and Doreen left for Alaska on April 8th to be with her. Since then, Doreen has been taking care of her daughter, as she is unable to work or accomplish daily tasks, such as cleaning, cooking, running errands, etc.

It has recently become quite a financial struggle for Doreen to maintain 2 households and also pay for medical treatments that are not covered by insurance. The infusions cost an average of $500 per week. Aurora has student loans and there are many expenses. Doreen is not one to ask for help yet is always there whenever a friend or colleague needs assistance whether it be monetary, meal prep or her time and positive energy.

While maintaining Aurora’s privacy, I want to express that this is not a short-term recovery process. Aurora reached critical levels during this illness, and she is not out of the woods yet. She is scheduled for surgery mid-July, which will hopefully put an end to the cause and allow recovery to begin. I am asking for your help to allay the financial stress so she may focus on Aurora and her recovery. No gift is too small and it will make a difference. Thank you.
