Hi, we’re Doran and Tambi. We’re sharing our story with open hearts, hoping for a little support during the most difficult time of our lives.
Tambi is a cancer survivor, having bravely fought and beat cervical cancer in 2015. Since 2016, we’ve been on a long, emotional, and often painful journey trying to grow our family through IVF. After many setbacks and years of hope and heartbreak, our dream finally came true in November 2024—we were pregnant.
In March 2025, our world changed suddenly. Tambi was diagnosed with PPROM (preterm premature rupture of membranes), a rare and devastating pregnancy complication. She was admitted to the University of Washington Medical Center on March 26th. Doctors worked tirelessly to keep both Tambi and our baby safe, but on April 8th, at just 24 weeks, our son Mac was born via emergency c-section weighing only 600 grams (1 lb 5 oz).
Mac was a warrior from the start. He was admitted to the NICU and spent 6 weeks fighting with everything he had. We cherished every moment with him. He brought more love into our lives than we thought possible. On May 18th, 2025, our sweet baby boy passed away in our arms.
Our hearts are broken. We're navigating grief while trying to stay afloat financially. Between the costs of long-term hospitalization, NICU care, travel, and living expenses, the bills are overwhelming. These are costs that don’t stop, even when the worst happens.
If you feel moved to help us during this time, any contribution—large or small—will help relieve some of this financial burden and allow us to grieve without the constant pressure of mounting debt. Your support means more than we can ever express.
Thank you for reading our story, and for holding our family in your hearts.
With gratitude,
Doran & Tambi
