Everyone who knows Doobie knows how special he is. He spreads joy and love everywhere he goes, helping people smile in times of need. Now Doobie needs our help.

After many tests and procedures, it has been confirmed that Doobie has thymoma. Thymoma is a cancerous mass that grows off the thymus gland between the heart and lungs. As it grows, it presses on these vital organs, and if not treated, he will suffocate and need to be put down within the year. Treatment involves mediastinal surgery- his sternum to be sawed through and his chest cavity cracked open and he will have to be on a ventilator to aid his breathing. If all goes well, they will remove the tumor and wire his sternum shut and he should make a FULL recovery. Doobie is only 7 years old and deserves a full life. I will be with him every step of the way for a comfortable recovery.

It is a very invasive and scary surgery, and it breaks my heart that Doobie has to go through this, BUT with all the information I have gathered, this is the best route for him. Luckily, we found this tumor at its earliest stage. The specialist thinks it developed this spring, and by the grace of God, we discovered it just as it developed. His thymoma is aggressive and is growing fast, so surgery must be done ASAP. It’s been scheduled for June 30th.

Because this is open-heart surgery that needs a specialist and a team of surgeons, the surgery is very expensive (estimated between $12,000-$18,000). If you know me, I never ask for handouts. I am a giving person, with my friends, family and clients. I've been working my little massage fingers away to save, but we are already $10,000 in with the previous medical bills needed to get to this point. I refuse to let money be a factor from saving his life.

Any amount of donation helps to make the surgery possible. I'm doing whatever it takes for Mr. Doobie; he is not only my ride or die but has touched the lives of many in the community as a therapy dog who’s job is to lift spirits and spread love.

I will be running a free yoga class in honor of Doobie on June 29th at 1:30-2:30pm located at Down to Earth Bodyworks. The class will be the day before Doobie's surgery so everyone can get their pets in and give him lots of love before the big day. The class will be dedicated to Doobie's success to raise the vibes, and as a community, we can meditate on Doobies healing. Doobie would love to see you there.
