Support Dontrell's Recovery After Hit-and-Run

Donation protected
On April 6th, Dontrell Green was struck by a vehicle in a serious hit & run accident in Seattle. While on his way home, Dontrell lost control of his vehicle on the highway and crashed into the median. While in a state of shock, he got out of his totaled car and tried to cross the highway to reach safety when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle. The driver fled the scene and left Dontrell lying unconscious on the highway.

Dontrell suffered a severe traumatic brain injury - a grade 3 DAI - and remains in critical condition in the Neuro ICU at Harborview Medical Center. His prognosis is uncertain as he continues to receive ongoing intensive care. But what we do know is that the road ahead will be long, difficult, and life-altering.

We humbly created this page to ask for support during this critical time. Our family has been by his side every day for over a month and will continue to be there for as long as it takes to bring him home. Donations will go directly towards his medical expenses and rehabilitation costs.

This month, Dontrell was looking forward to celebrating his 21st birthday alongside his older brother, Jordan – a milestone he was excited to spend with family. Dontrell is a devoted son, brother, nephew, and cousin. He has a deep love for family time and a sharp sense of humor. He is an incredibly thoughtful, loyal, and gentle soul and will always show up for others in need. Dontrell is known to light up a room with his big, goofy grin and warm, infectious energy.

We are devastated, but we are also holding onto hope. Hope for healing. Hope for justice. And hope that with your support, we can give Dontrell the best chance at recovery and help our family stay strong during this difficult time.

Any amount helps. And if you can’t give financially, sharing this page with others would mean the world to us. Especially considering the driver who hit him still remains unidentified. We are so incredibly thankful for all of the continued support, prayers, and donations.

If you are in the King County or surrounding areas, please refer to the press release included here in the photos for more details of the suspected vehicle.
