Support Donte's Critical Surgery

Hi Everyone,

My name is Vanessa, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to help my beloved dog, Donte. I rescued Donte and his brother Cebe back in 2021, and they’ve truly been the light of my life ever since.

Recently, I noticed that Donte wasn’t acting like himself.. he was lethargic and not finishing his food, which is very unlike him. On 05/26/2025, I took him to the emergency vet, where I paid over $2k for an ultrasound, X-rays, and bloodwork. The diagnosis was that Donte’s spleen is twisted, and he needs *immediate surgery and a blood transfusion* to survive.

The total cost of the surgery is estimated to be $9k. As a college student working part-time, this amount is simply impossible for me to cover on such short notice. I’ve already used my savings, and I’m still paying off a previous surgery for Donte’s brother, which has made me ineligible for CareCredit and ScratchPay.

Right now, Donte is at home with me, which I know is extremely risky .. the vet told me that his spleen could rupture at any moment. But without the funds, I have no other choice. I’m trying to stay hopeful and raise enough money in time to save his life.
