Don Edwards was a long-time figure on the block at Flora Cafe. Don always had a story, though if you asked him, "How are you today?" he would usually answer, "Terrible!" Don did not have family in the city and towards the end of his life, suffered from dementia that led him to a state-funded nursing home. Sadly, that is where he passed a couple of weeks ago. Due to this, he was a ward of the state and funeral expenses aren't covered by any program, even though Don was a veteran. We are raising funds for a small memorial service for Don, including a brass band as he loved music more than anything. This will also cover the costs of cremation. Loving friends have fronted the money for these expenses but sadly none of us can afford it out of pocket. Please consider donating in Don's memory.
