Support Donny's Recovery and Future Care

I have always been a lover of cats, just ask my boyfriend who was voluntold to take a cat that I had rescued when his owner threated to put him down just because he didn't want him anymore. Lucifer is now living happily with his girlfriend Chloe at my boyfriend's place. I also recently rescued another kitty that was only 2-3 months old right before the dead of winter last year. He's the 3rd baby I have at home now, Ding Dong, along with my other two Klondike and Moonpie. So you'd think, Erin, you have enough cats in your life, right? Sure! But why put a limit on happiness!? And when I saw the sweet little baby very sick and almost completely unable to move outside my office in Des Peres, there was no way I was just going to leave him there. I rushed him to the VSS Animal Hospital down on Manchester because I knew they had the expertise to help him, if he was able to be helped. (I'd taken 2 of my past kitties there for different illnesses and they were always amazing.) After getting him there, they asked me if he was "MY" kitty. I said, no, I found him outside my office building. They told me if I didn't claim him, he would be given over to animal control and they would decide his fate. I couldn't leave his little life in the hands of people that I KNOW make challenging decisions every day, whether to save a life or humanely euthanize them, when I felt he was a fighter. I told them I would claim him and put down the initial deposit of $1,150. He's now spent 4 days and 3 nights in VSS care and is ready to head home! He's not out of the woods yet, though. He has a gnarly open wound on his side that was originally full of maggots (ick!) but is now clean and healing. He has the potential to be Feline Leukemia positive, in which case I will have to find him another loving home as all of my kitties ARE NOT FeLuk+. I will keep him until I can find another place for him, if that's the case. But, in the time he's with me, he will also need to be neutered and receive all his beginning shots. At this time, he's still too young to have those things done. So I'm asking for help from you all to cover some of these expenses, if you're willing and able. Anyone who's ever had a pet that they found, saved, adopted, rescued, loved, cared for and did it all on their own - I applaud you. I've done that for 2 of my babies and wouldn't change a thing. This little guy - Donnette we've named him, like the Little Debbie mini donuts - is definitely the most expensive kitty I've rescued. I was lucky that the other 2 were relatively healthy and only needed neutered/regular shots. But Donny was a fighter, I saw it in him when I swooped him up and had him in the carrier on the way to the hospital. He meowed and watched me, telling me he was okay, but also fell fast asleep in the carrier - knowing that he was safe. I am very thankful that, in this case, there's been so much interest from the amazing people at my office to donate to help Donny. If you feel so inclined and are financially able, that would be amazing. If not, if you could pass it along to some other lovely cat lovers, that would be awesome too! Any donations will make me more able to help other kitties in need!! Like the FOUR OTHERS that are in the same place where I found this one - they seem to be in much better health, thank goodness, but any rescuer knows strays are never given the love, care, and attention they deserve.
Thank you for visiting my GoFundMe. I appreciate every single penny donated! And so does little Donny. Pictures to come when I spring him from the hospital today!
