Hello, my name is Adam Rich and I am a member of the Indianapolis Airport Authority Fire Department, Local 416! On Sunday, Oct 12, at the beginning of shift, we had a firefighter/paramedic develop tightness in his chest and knew he was having a heart attack. He was checked out by other medics at the station and transported to the hospital via Plainfield Medic. They did testing and cath lab imaging and determined that he needed to have open-heart surgery. Donnie then had 1 more heart attack before surgery, and when they got him to the operating room, they saw there was a lot more damage than they had suspected, they performed an addition procedure to correct it and the next few days are critical. He is currently resting with family by his side.

As a firefighter/paramedic for over 25 years at the airport, Donnie has impacted multiple lives on and off duty, but unfortunately, because we (the Airport Fire Department) are not in the PERF 1977 Fund, his future and financial well-being are not secure. Donnie is in for a LONG road to recovery at best, and your thoughts and prayers would be greatly appreciated. This GoFundMe is being created to assist him and his family in his long road to recovery! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!!
