A series of unfortunate circumstances has left my brother, Donnie, in need of your help!
Here are the circumstances for asking for help:
- He was let go from his job in August of 2024
- Struggling with major depression: after trying multiple medications, he was referred for TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation). This treatment has been beneficial, but it costs $3,000 out of pocket
- Diagnosed with prostate cancer in February 2025 with the category of "intermediate unfavorable," additional testing identified his cancer to be very aggressive—he just completed his radiation treatment plan
- Needs bilateral knee replacements as soon as possible due to stress fractures starting to develop in both legs—his first knee replacement is scheduled for Aug. 19
- Had to spend a lot to get to the out-of-pocket medical expense maximum through his wife's insurance
- Filing for forbearance on their mortgage for medical hardship
- Applying for disability, and if approved, it could take 6-8 months before he could receive any funds
- Desperately wants to work and continues to apply for jobs, but due to his medical issues, finding an appropriate position has been challenging
Donnie has resisted sharing his financial burden in a public way, and asking for help is difficult. I feel certain that those who know Donnie and his heart for helping others will want to help him if possible.
