Hello Everyone, my name is Farrah & I’m the daughter of Donnie Franklin Sr. Donnie is a widower, loving father to his 5 children and an even more active & outstanding role model to his multiple grandchildren he enjoys dearly. As some may already know, he is currently battling Lung Cancer for the 3rd time, in which the first two times were treated with radiation sessions. He’s rang the bell before & we pray he’s able to do it again! Although our father is a very private person and tends to refrain from asking anyone for help, we have recently been informed that the cancer has grown fairly larger and needs to be treated sooner than later. Since he was not expecting this result to be so sudden & has been attempting to work part-time to offset his fixed income from disability while dealing with the pain & suffering toll on his body, his great team of doctors has advised him to reduce the strains as he prepares for his treatment options. And now unable to work. The two options he has are Chemotherapy or Surgery to have it removed, in which both options are very risky due to his age (71) and the location. It is currently in the lower lobe of his lung, where it underlies his rib cage. Due to the location & healing process of either one, he will be out of work for a while or even entirely. He will meet with a surgeon in the upcoming weeks to determine which treatment option will have the greater outcome. If you know our father, he is a strong trooper who has encountered & conquered some of the hardest battles and would greatly appreciate any donations big or small to oversee this one in fact. We ask anyone who is able to help offset his costs on household necessities, food & monthly living expenses/bills, please do so as my siblings & myself are unable to do it on our own. As we prepare for this life-changing situation, please keep our father in your prayers for a greater outcome! From the bottom of his heart & ours, we appreciate everyone's blessings and assistance. God Bless!
