Hurricane Helene was a category 4 when it hit Florida, included in its path was our mom’s neighborhood and subsequently her home on the Gulf Coast.

While we are very thankful to the Lord for her safety, her loss is devastating. Our mom has always been the caretaker, the one that took care of everyone and got everything done. She has always been there for her family, friends, colleagues, and daycare families. She has always been there for her five children. She gave as a small business owner for over two decades when she sometimes probably shouldn’t have, but that is her. She has always been there, even when she had nothing left to give.

Now, she needs all of us. Hurricane Helene made her home uninhabitable and unsafe. Her home is unsanitary and still without power. She has already lost so much and the work has truly just begun.

As a senior with a fixed income and insurance rates that most couldn’t keep up with, her recovery is on her and our family. If you are able to help out the woman, whom we’re blessed to call mom and has helped so many throughout all her years, please help her now when she needs it most.

Many have reached out to her and she appreciates and is thankful for the support. If you have an immediate need to reach her, please reach out to Paul, Brian, Garrett, or myself. She’s wearing herself too thin trying to get through the damage. Brian and I will be there this week to help in any way we can (Gar and Paul would be there in a heartbeat, too, but we’re tackling phase 1). It will be a long road to get our mom back on her feet.
