My name is Gina and this is my Mother, Donna. She has been recently diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer. The last decade has been quite tumultuous for our family. Both her husband and daughter passed within a few years of each other. She lost her house, moved in with me and we took custody of her grandson. She was in relatively good health until a hospital stay in March. With her diagnosis in July, we move into a new chapter. I am now trying to be both provider and caretaker. I hope for the best but I’m cognizant the survival rate for this type of cancer is inherently slim. So my goal in the meantime is to do everything I can to care for her and make her as comfortable as possible - that is where my conundrum lies. I’m the sole income provider for our household meaning I am solely responsible for all deductibles and bills. This also prevents me from continuing to be her caretaker in the manner she deserves. The help from my community has been spectacular so far and I am so very grateful for all of the amazing support. But we still fall short on funds and time. I simply ask for some help to pay her deductibles and allow me to give her some compassionate care and the treatment she deserves. Thank you so much for your help!
