Help Donna fight Stg 4 Lung cancer

Donna has always been an active, healthy, caring friend who loves the outdoors and spending time with her friends and family. After years of many part-time jobs so she could run all those boys around and be there for them, she was hired as an engineer after they had all grown into hard working young men.

In Dec. 2021 she became very ill with pneumonia. She survived a sepsis episode and was treated for pneumonia for 4 months, a misdiagnosis. An endoscopy revealed a diagnosis of Stage 3 non-smoker NSCLC (Non-small cell lung cancer) in May of 2022. This type of cancer produces mucus which caused the pneumonia - a blessing in disguise. She went through 4 tough chemo and immunotherapy rounds and had her lower left lobe surgically removed in 9/22. The 2.5 month recovery was a tough one and very painful but she stayed strong, faithful and positive. She was cancer free! It had never spread outside of her left lung.

Unfortunately, that was short-lived as her 2nd follow-up scan 6 months later showed growths in the remainder of her left lung as well as her right lung. She underwent another surgical lung VATS biopsy, which revealed it was the same type of cancer with the same genetic mutations. As a result, she is Stage 4 and must remain on chemo forever.

Fortunately, the FDA had recently approved a targeted treatment for her type of cancer. She has been on this chemotherapy since last July. She gets treatments every 3 weeks and has multiple appointments for blood work, scans, echocardiograms, MRIs, etc. Donna began integrative treatment daily and intravenous treatment weekly.
She's had to cut back her work hours to take care of herself while her medical bills have immensely increased.

Her life has changed a lot, but she still enjoys biking, hiking, kayaking, gardening and cooking. She's a fighter with strong faith. She refuses to lay around feeling ill or complaining about her pain.

Donna and Dave have been blessed and able to financially keep up with her cancer bills until now. Asking for help is difficult for Donna and Dave, but they need it to keep up with her treatments and medical bills. Some friends and family have already directly sent them donations and she is forever grateful.

Any given amount would be greatly appreciated and would help remove some financial stress. Thank you for taking the time to read her story and thank you in advance for your support! Please feel free to share this with your contacts and social media if you feel comfortable. Thank you!!
