Support Donna Lowe's Major Jaw Surgery and Recovery

I am posting this fundraiser on behalf of my mother, Donna Lowe. My mother is a breast cancer survivor from 2012. However, over the years, the cancer has metastasized to her bones and organs. Due to radiation treatments in 2013, Donna's jaw accidently received radiation. As of 2024, the jaw bone is now dead and working it's way out of the gums. The jaw bone requires removal and replacement. A bone will be harvested from her lower leg with skin grafts taken from her inner wrist to create new gums. This will be a very invasive, major surgery.

Surgery is scheduled for April 22nd in Kansas City. After the surgery, Donna will spend at least 5 days in ICU with a trachmeostomy and feeding tube. Then another week in the hospital. Once released, Donna will be required to stay in Kansas City for rehab, wound care and follow-up.

With that said, I am her legal care giver. With the aide of my sister, we will take care of mom in the hospital and at the extended stay hotel. None of us are in the financial position to pay for lodging, meals and fuel for this entire time frame. Plus there will be many follow-up visits over several months.
