Hi, my name is Cristtina, and I’m the daughter-in-law of an incredible woman, Donna Lopez. I’m starting this fundraiser to support Donna as she continues her brave, years-long battle with multiple life-altering and rare medical conditions.

Donna has been fighting for her health since 2008, and due to severe digestive complications caused by Gastroparesis and Intestinal Malabsorption, she’s been reliant on Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN)—a method of receiving nutrients through a PICC Line since 2011. She is on TPN for 10 hours every night and it's failing her, Next option would be a Multi Visceral Transplant which is 5 organs. We are hoping to avoid. Any help or even a share of this page would be a blessing.

Donna lives with several rare and severe conditions that impact nearly every system in her body:

Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) – A connective tissue disorder that affects the joints, skin, and blood vessels. It causes extreme joint instability, pain, fatigue, and internal complications.

Gastroparesis – A condition where the stomach is paralyzed and cannot process food properly. Because of this, she has been on TPN (Total Parenteral Nutrition) through a PICC line for the past 14 years, relying entirely on IV nutrition to stay alive. Now, her body is starting to reject TPN, putting her in serious danger.

Pulmonary Hypertension – A progressive and life-threatening lung condition that causes high blood pressure in the lungs, straining her heart and making it difficult to breathe or exert energy.

Autoimmune Autonomic Neuropathy – A rare disorder where the immune system attacks the autonomic nervous system, affecting heart rate, blood pressure, digestion, and temperature regulation. It’s a constant, invisible storm inside her body.

Despite all of this, Donna continues to show strength, grace, and resilience. She is a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who has always gone above and beyond to take care of others—now it’s our turn to support her.

Her ongoing care involves frequent medical appointments, hospital stays, expensive medications, and around-the-clock nutritional support through her central line. Unfortunately, insurance doesn't cover everything, and the costs of her medical care and daily living needs continue to rise.

We are trying to raise [ $30,000] to help cover:

Out-of-pocket medical bills, copays, tests, and treatments: $11,000

Travel to and from specialist center (Flights, lodging, meals): $6,000

Living expenses while she is unable to work (Rent, utilities, insurance, groceries): $11,000

Emergency costs or Unexpected medical/Travel needs: $2,000

She currently has an appointment scheduled for May 5th to see specialists at National Jewish in Denver where she will have testing and procedures all week and will need to make multiple trips back along with seeing her specialists at Cleveland Clinic. She is scheduled for a surgery in June and will need another surgery in the near future.
