- Please help support a wonderful woman of the Blue Ridge Mountain community who resides in Bedford, VA, and was diagnosed with throat cancer. Donna Karnes is a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend to all. Raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Bedford County on an apple farm from birth, Donna's country roots have never left her. She has been a caregiver for many, a softball coach, a Christian, and a prior JF cheerleader. She went in for a biopsy and was diagnosed with throat cancer. Her job stopped abruptly and we are trying to lift some of the financial burdens from her. She will be headed to UVA for extensive cancer treatment to fight for her health. This will be an expensive undertaking. Any small amount of donations would be appreciated. Any cancer is terrible. The treatment and financial burden is devastating to many families. House payments, electric bills, food, insurance, money for treatment, and tax bills continue, even though many cannot work.
