Support Donna Jamila's Brave Cancer Journey

Donation protected
Love and Peace to all the dear hearts who read this,

Last fall I sent out an appeal for our beloved sister, Donna Jamila Crews, to support her in embracing the journey toward healing cancer. Your generous outpouring of love, prayers and donations have been a true life line for our sister and so very deeply appreciated.

Sometimes when we begin a journey, we find that it is not an express train to our destination. In the fall, Donna Jamila’s sense of guidance and determination to experience healing in the most holistic way led her to embrace the metabolic approach to cancer treatment. This protocol has not given her all that she had hoped for, and about two months ago she also began chemotherapy treatments.

Now, here we are in spring, and the journey continues - as Jamila says, “The hardest thing I have ever done, no kidding.” For this brave, spunky sister who routinely walked three to five miles a day, and now is hobbling to the car for rides to chemo, it is a rugged uphill climb requiring the ultimate in courage and determination.

The good news - the chemo appears to be moving Donna Jamila in the right direction, and she loves chemo days, as it helps her feel better with less pain.

Can you help Donna Jamila continue her healing journey? Please click the donate button now - any amount is immensely helpful and deeply appreciated. If you have a moment, read her story:

Picture this - the love that manifests during the day by check ins, rides to doctor and chemo appointments, online appointments, tracking meds, charting numbers, preparing smoothies, measuring how much nutrition is going in . . . the love and support that her daughter, Amy, gives in all the multitude of details involved in her mom's survival and healing while striving to maintain her job and income.

Picture this - the love that manifests in the evening with family FaceTime dinner calls, her kids from Texas coming to visit, Donna Jamila and Amy snuggled on the coach under their electric blankets, watching TV, the way this experience is drawing the family closer to one another.

Picture this - a little six month old grandson, Tate, who wants his Nona to live so he can know for himself what a treasure she is. Donna Jamila has lived with 16 year old Cannon since he was a tot. He wants his Nona to be here for his high school graduation in a couple of years. Her Texas grandkids (LaraLee's children) Alex, Erin and Michael, and (Casey and Jen's children, sibs of little Tate) Presley and Lincoln who all love their Nona to come and visit them.

Donna Jamila has on-going expenses for medical out-of-pocket, special foods, supportive healing treatments such as acupuncture, and household and personal care, in addition to being unable to work and having loss of income. They have applied for home health care and it takes three months for Medicare approval. In the meantime these expenses come out of pocket.

We are appealing to you to raise $34,000 for the next six to eight months to help Donna Jamila continue the journey toward healing and the joy of being here for her grandchildren - the new baby Tate, and all of his cousins.

Any size donation is deeply appreciated. Many small donations add up to make a real difference. And if you can give more, or give several gifts over the next couple of months, it is deeply appreciated, as is your ongoing love and prayers for Donna Jamila. This is the best of community - being there for one another.

With Infinite Gratitude,
Donna Jamila, Amy, and Amina Melody
