My name is Carol, a neighbor of Donna and Ed on Amaryllis Drive in Barefoot Bay. Yesterday, two lovely people lost their home, all their possessions, their car, and even their golf cart. It all went up in flames in minutes. This awful fire also took their two beloved cats, Zillo and Murphy.

Donna and Ed quickly ran out of the house with only the clothes on their backs. Our kind neighbors gave them clothes and shoes to wear for the time being. This fire was a very traumatic experience for them, watching their life's possessions go up in smoke. Although the effects of this fire will never leave their memories, their hearts, at this time, they NEED OUR HELP. They need funds to start over. They don't own even the basics of daily living—shelter, food, clothes, blankets, toiletries, etc., are all essential items that they no longer have. On a more positive side, they have received a minimal amount of money from the Red Cross, and our neighbors have given them a place to stay for now, but as we all know, they will need much, much more to continue to rebuild their lives.
