Howdy,
My name is Logan Allender. I've worked in coffee for the past 15 years, and along the way, I’ve had the privilege of meeting some truly incredible people.
One of those people is Don Donaldo Cuadra.
I met Donaldo and his family in 2018 while working in Nicaragua, and since then, he has become both a trusted partner and a personal mentor in the world of coffee. His fierce dedication and unwavering integrity are well known throughout the San Fernando community.
Donaldo is not just a remarkable coffee producer—he’s a devoted husband and father to three kind, intelligent children. His family’s warmth and generosity reflect the values he lives by every day.
In February of this year, Donaldo was diagnosed with liver cancer (intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma). He’s now undergoing chemotherapy in Managua, the capital city—a grueling 5–6 hour drive from his family’s farm.
If this fight were determined solely by strength of spirit, I’d say cancer picked the wrong man. Donaldo is nothing if not determined. But as we know, access to treatment takes more than willpower—it takes resources.
This fundraiser will help cover essential costs for:
Chemotherapy
Surgery
Medication
Travel to and from Managua
Lodging during treatment
To those who have already reached out or contributed—thank you. Your support means more than words can express.
Donaldo is deeply loved, both in Nicaragua and here in the U.S. I’m confident that together, we can show up for someone who has spent his life lifting others.
On behalf of Don Donaldo and the entire Cuadra family, thank you for your compassion and generosity.
With gratitude,
Logan Allender
