On October 14th, Dona suddenly and unexpectedly lost her husband, Matt Fugmann. He left behind their son, Zachary. He served as a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, Reconnaissance, Scout Sniper. After retiring, the family started a roofing company where Matt recently started mentoring his son in the business. The family depended on Matt's veteran's benefits as well as the company to support them in their daily needs. Now that Matt has passed, the family is in need for support in order to cover their daily needs.

Matt loved being around his family and friends. He was a generous, loving man who enjoyed helping others, had a great sense of humor, and was passionate about his NY sports teams. Matt was a devoted husband and proud father. His personality was larger than life, always encouraging others, and he was an incredible conversationalist. He could carry on conversations about everything from faith, culture, art, music, movies, sports, current events, and most of all, history. Matt always enjoyed coaching youth sports and made a huge impact on our community.
