On March 22, 2026, our family’s world changed in an instant. My dad, Don Shaw, suffered his second stroke—this one a major stroke—while riding his motorcycle with my mom on the back in New Braunfels, Texas. By the grace of God, they were moving slowly in traffic when it happened. The bike went down, pinning my dad underneath, while my mom was thrown off. Both had skinned knees and elbows. Complete strangers didn’t hesitate. Several people stopped immediately, lifted the bike off my dad, and one person called 911. Within minutes, he was in the hospital receiving critical care. We are incredibly grateful for the people who stepped in and for how quickly help arrived.

Right now, our focus is on my dad’s recovery. A major stroke comes with a long road ahead—hospital stays, rehabilitation, therapy, and time away from work. As you can imagine, this brings a heavy financial burden on top of everything else our family is facing. We are asking for help to cover medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, and to support my parents during this time as they focus on healing.

My dad has always been a hardworking man. He's been a pillar of strength for my family our whole lives. He's never been one to ask for help but would be willing to give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He's always been on the move and could never stay sitting in one spot for too long. You could imagine how this unfortunate situation is affecting him.

My dad got moved to a rehabilitation center as of 3/25/26 where he will be facing intense physical therapy. Currently, he has no control of his left arm and continues to work on taking his first steps. He has a long road ahead of him, but he has never been a quitter.

If you’re able to give, any amount truly makes a difference. If you can’t donate, sharing this page means just as much to our family. Most importantly, we ask for your prayers.
We are holding onto faith, staying strong as a family, and trusting God through this process.

Thank you for your support, your prayers, and your kindness—it means more than we can put into words.
