Support Don Papi Chulo Through Temporary Closure

Don Papi Chulo is a small, family-owned restaurant that began as a food truck in 2020 right here in Minnesota. Ramona and José started it with a simple dream: to build something of their own, share their love of cooking, and create a place where people feel welcome and cared for through good food. The name Don Papi Chulo came from their kids while playing around — a reflection of how deeply family is woven into everything they do. After years of working in the restaurant industry and nurturing their passion for cooking, they took a leap of faith and built a business that reflects their values: hard work, warmth, generosity, and pride in their heritage. Today, Don Papi Chulo proudly serves authentic Mexican food to the community, sharing their culture through every dish and creating a space that brings people together.

Due to recent safety concerns, the restaurant has had to temporarily close in order to protect their staff and family. This fundraiser is not about politics — it’s about neighbors helping neighbors. It’s about supporting a small, local business during an unexpected and difficult moment so they can stay afloat and hopefully reopen their doors soon. Every contribution helps cover basic operating costs like rent, utilities, insurance, and lost income during this closure. Most importantly, it helps a family who has poured their heart into this community continue their dream.

If you’ve ever enjoyed their food, appreciated their kindness, or believe in supporting local families and small businesses, please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser. Thank you for showing up for our community.
