Help Don and Kathy Gardner with unforeseen expenses due to Lewy Body Dementia.
Hello everyone. I am Ashlynn Cushing, daughter of Donald and Kathy Gardner. My sweet dad, Don, was recently diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia, a debilitating and progressive brain disorder, Parkinsonisms and Chronic small vessel ischemic white matter changes, all of which have resulted in a rapid decline of his health and ability to function day to day.
Dad has always been the cornerstone of our family, known for his kindness, generosity, gentle and unwavering support for others. Now, he needs our help to navigate this challenging journey.
A Veteran of the Vietnam War, we learned by way of the diagnostic process that dad was exposed to Agent Orange during the time he served. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs considers dad's condition to be directly associated with exposure to Agent Orange, along with Parkinsonisms, which are also present in his diagnosis. Lewy Body Dementia is a complex and relentless disease that affects cognitive abilities, motor functions, and causes severe psychiatric symptoms. Dad’s diagnosis brought significant challenges to his daily life years before he was formally diagnosed. He experiences memory loss, confusion, and debilitating physical symptoms that require constant care and support. The costs associated with managing his condition alongside unforeseen expenses are overwhelming.
Goal: We are seeking to raise $25,000 to assist with unforeseen expenses as part of this diagnosis. Your generous contribution will make a profound difference as we move forward in this journey.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness and generosity. Your support means the world to us and provides hope and relief during this difficult time. Please share this link with family and friends if you feel led to do so.
Thank you for standing with us and offering your support.
