Support Don Conti's Medical Recovery Journey

Many people in the Youngstown area know Don Conti as the guitarist in one of the many bands he has been in over the years. No excuse, Haymaker, SoulShine, Broken Reins and 8-Track to name a few. We are asking for your support with expenses incurred from recent medical treatment and complications.

Donnie was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis a few years ago and in 2023 he was hospitalized twice with severe complications. As he managed his way through his UC, he was then diagnosed with colon cancer early in 2024. Over the course of the year he would undergo 3 surgeries. The 1st was to remove the cancerous colon, which left him with an Ileostomy. The next, a ‘J-surgery’, created a new connection for the removed colon. With this phase of his treatment, he experienced complications in which he had 2 months of trips to Cleveland, twice a week, to complete the repairs and help with the healing needed from the J-surgey. Finally on Dec 23rd, 2024, he underwent his final surgery to remove the Ileostomy and reconnect the bowel. He and his wife Ingrid spent Christmas in the hospital, but there was a light at the end of the tunnel as this was to be his final surgery.

Now that he is well on his way to recovery, we are hosting a benefit in Donnie’s honor on June 1st at the American Eagles #3298 to help with the expenses incurred over this past year of treatment. Please join us for the live entertainment from 1:00 – 5:30 as well as a Chinese Auction and 50/50 drawing. We want to show Donnie our deep appreciation and love for the many years he has enriched our local music scene with his outstanding talents. Your attendance and donations will be greatly appreciated.
