Support Don Brooks' Recovery Journey

Ten years ago, our dear friend Don Brooks survived a brutal hate crime, a hit-and-run attack that changed his life. The incident made the news, but what didn’t get shared was the lasting damage it left behind.

Over time, scar tissue from the attack began to grow, silently pressing against the nerves in his head. Recently, this built-up scar tissue caused debilitating migraines, memory issues, and extreme pain. After undergoing scans, doctors discovered the source: the scar tissue was crushing vital nerves. Surgery beneath the scalp was the only option.

Don underwent an intense procedure and is now in recovery and has been facing weeks without work, income, or stability. On top of that, he’s dealing with a stack of medical bills and a long road to healing. He needs our help.

This GoFundMe is to help cover the cost of his surgery, recovery, and living expenses during this time. He’s strong. He’s a survivor. But no one should have to carry the weight of healing alone.

If you’ve ever met Don you know his spirit is magnetic and he would go to bat for anyone. He didn’t deserve what happened to him but he does deserve support, peace, and a full recovery.
