Support Don Bell: An LGBTQ Community Hero Who Needs Support

Donation protected
Don Bell is a long time advocate and community leader in Chicago's LGBTQ+ community. He is facing imminent eviction and needs support for legal and moving related expenses. You can read about Don's predicament in Block Club Chicago, in this story published 3/27/25.

A founding commissioner and chairperson of the Illinois Commission on LGBTQ+ Aging and Long-Term HIV Survival and a member of the Mayor’s Advisory Council on LGBTQ+ Affairs, Don is one the leading community advocates who helped make the Town Hall Apartments a reality. Town Hall Apartments are LGBTQ+ affirming residences for seniors - where Don was one of the first residents. Also where Don is being evicted from - without any sort of proper process or mediation.

Don is 75 years old and has multiple health conditions. This eviction could spell some very grave consequences.

Block Club can fill in more details.

Any donation big or small will be greatly appreciated by Don, his husband, and his close circle of friends.
