My name is Don, and for a lot of you that know me, you know my two and a half year journey since moving to Denver has not been a good ride at all. My spouse of 10 years passed away at the young age of 39. Shortly there after my car was stolen from my apartment parking lot. They found it having just over a $2,000 in damage. Luckily my insurance covered the repairs. Just a few quick months after that incident, an uninsured motorist hit me. My car was pretty banged up and I couldn't open or use my trunk and the passenger side was pretty rough also. Two months after that, My car was stolen again. This time, the damage was so extreme that the car was junked completely. There was over 8,000. worth of damage and I still owe on a car I don't even have anymore. Just when I think it couldn't get worse, I end up in the hospital for a few solid days to have emergency surgery on my left hand pointer finger, received during an attack and serious bite from a very intoxicated women who I was trying to keep from escalating a fight at the apartment pool area where there were children. Her bite gave me staff infection which sent me to the ER and resulted almost losing my finger. And just a few short months after that I was laid off my job that I have loved so much! I was devastated by this beyond what I could describe. I was able to maintain part time work for a different company on the side however, it is not enough to pay a quarter of the expense that it has cost me to live in Denver area. Losing my spouse and his income had really put a damper on being able to survive here. I am now facing eviction and I have to somehow get a new place that is less expensive for myself and my two fur babies. I am behind on my mortgage payments for the house I still have in Indiana which i have for sale but I can not afford to put the power on to have the agent show the house. I am behind on all my utilities and have several months to catch up on before moving or I wont have power, water or internet. I am not one to ever reach out for help and or money and I have never been in a position this bad and honestly I am absolutely terrified. I get around by scooter and I can barely afford that now. The job market is so bad here and I have been going to interview after interview and no offers as of yet and I don't want me or my fur babies to be homeless and living on the streets. The winter's here can be pretty extreme and I honestly don't think i could survive that. I need help in catching up with utilities and saving enough to put down as a deposit for a new apartment. I am so embarrassed about reaching out and asking for this type of help but I have finally started to realize the reality of it all and I'm quite scared of what I could be facing. If there is anyway anyone of you could help with even just a dollar to help me get back on my feet and help me keep my fur babies safe then it would be beyond appreciated and will give me hope that good things are on the horizon. If there is anyway even, just some pocket change anyone could spare. I am so regretful That I am having to ask for this type of help and assistance and help be cause I have never been in any type of situation As I am now. I thank all of you are amazing for your kind words and support that I have receiving during these really rough patches. I am eventually planning on relocating out of Colorado but for now with the winter quickly approaching and wanting to keep myself and fur babies safe from the unpleasant winters we get here. Once I get through this coming winter, I will be leaving Denver. Help if you can and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
