I am raising funds for my 78-year-old husband, Don. On February 5, 2026, Don was walking in Power Ranch when an e-bike rider ran him off the path and did not stop. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital with serious injuries, and since then our lives have completely changed.
Don cannot walk, cannot work, and is in significant pain. He is scheduled for spine surgery on October 9, and according to his doctors, he may possibly face a hip replacement after spine surgery. Don has spent his life helping others as a chaplain, so being in this position is especially hard for us. We have always been the ones trying to support other people, and asking for help now is not easy.
I am 76 years old and doing everything I can to care for Don while keeping our household going. We have lost Don's income, and the medical expenses continue to grow. I worked 96 hours in four days trying to keep up, but this is not something we can manage alone while Don faces surgery and recovery.
The funds from this fundraiser will help with Don's medical expenses and our living costs while he is unable to work. Because these needs continue over time through surgery, recovery, and the possibility of additional treatment, recurring donations would provide steady support and help us keep up with ongoing expenses. One-time donations and shares are also deeply appreciated.
If you are able to help Don, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your support will ease some of the financial pressure and help us focus on getting him through surgery and recovery.
