Dear Friends and Supporters,
My name is Cherlena, and I am the wife of Dominique Haywood. I am reaching out to you during what has become one of the most challenging times in our lives. In April 2025, Dominique suffered a severe stroke that required a frontal-temporal-parietal decompressive hemicraniectomy. This tragic event changed our lives in an instant, leaving Dominique with aphasia and apraxia, which means she now faces significant challenges with communication and mobility. At this time, she requires a wheelchair to move around.
Adjusting to these new circumstances has been incredibly difficult, both emotionally and financially. I am fully dedicated to caring for Dominique and making sure she has everything she needs, while also keeping up with our bills. Unfortunately, our savings have been exhausted. We are now at a point where we must find a more accessible home that can accommodate Dominique's needs. I am reaching out to ask for your support in making this move possible.
Every contribution, no matter the amount, will assist us tremendously with moving costs, accessibility modifications, and helping with our daily expenses. If you find it in your heart to donate or share our story, I would be deeply grateful. Your kindness will help us navigate this tough journey and provide Dominique with the support she needs to regain her independence and quality of life.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story, and for any assistance you can offer. It means the world to us during this difficult time.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Cherlena Mack-Haywood
