Our dear friend Dominique “DJ” Galindo, known lovingly as Dom, a beloved bartender at Homer’s in Morganton, NC, has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. At only 40 years old, Dom is now on an unexpected and difficult journey, and we’re coming together to surround him with the love and support he has always shown others.
Dom isn’t just an incredible bartender—he’s a devoted father to his 16-year-old son and a cherished part of our community. With his warm smile, quick wit, and genuine kindness, Dom has a way of making everyone feel welcome and cared for. Whether he’s behind the bar listening to stories, offering encouragement, or sharing a laugh, he has touched countless hearts.
Before making Morganton his home, Dom spent many years in Douglasville, GA, where friends and locals knew him as DJ. He worked at a local restaurant Fiesta Azteca and shared his deep love of the outdoors as a fly fishing guide—a passion that continues to bring him peace and joy.
This diagnosis has come as a shock, and Dom and his loved ones are still learning what comes next. As he focuses on his health and healing, the financial burdens that come with treatment and time away from work are beginning to add up.
We’re asking our community, near and far, to come together for Dom the way he’s always been there for others. Our goal is to help ease the financial stress so he can focus on what truly matters—his recovery, his son, and the people who love him most.
Please consider donating to support Dom. Every contribution, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference.
Thank you for showing love and compassion for one of our own. Let’s help Dom know he’s not walking this road alone.
