Hi, my name is Leah, and I’m a mom to my incredible son, Dominic. Dominic is 13 years old, autistic, and visually impaired. Developmentally, he functions closer to a 4-year-old level and relies heavily on routine, therapy, and specialized support to feel safe and regulated in the world.
Recently, Dominic lost his Medicaid coverage unexpectedly. Unfortunately, the loss of insurance didn’t stop his needs—it just removed the support that made meeting them possible. Dominic depends on monthly therapies, sensory tools, adaptive supplies, and consistent care to thrive. Without Medicaid, these costs add up quickly, and as his mom, I’m doing everything I can to keep his progress from slipping while I fight to get his coverage reinstated. I never imagined asking for help like this, but right now, I’m choosing advocacy over pride—for my child.
Funds raised will go directly toward therapy services, sensory and adaptive equipment, visual and safety supports, and monthly care expenses not covered without insurance. Any amount helps more than you know. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this also makes a huge difference. Thank you for seeing my son and supporting us during this incredibly difficult moment. With gratitude, Leah
