Support Dominic's Battle Against Bone Cancer

Donation protected
Hello. My name is Olivia and a family who has been near and dear to me received devastating news over the last few days.

Dominic is a 15 year old freshman who attends TCTC. He has a hard battle ahead and I’m trying to help this family out as much as possible.

This all started back in late 2024 when Dominic noticed pain in his jaw and there were concerns for a fracture. After advanced imaging confirm the fracture in his jaw, the doctors scheduled surgery on 12/30/24 to repair the fracture and do reconstruction on his jaw. Unfortunately the surgery could not be completed as planned because a tumor was found. The doctors removed the tumor, so it could be sent off for pathology!

Fast forward 4 weeks and the pathology results are back and it’s news no mother, grandparent, family, or friend ever wishes to hear! The tumor came back positive for High-Grade Spindle Cell Sarcoma of the bone.

I am starting this go fund me because nobody should have to worry about expenses when traveling to and from appointments, surgeries, or anything for that matter. Dominic is such a strong willed kid and we could only pray for a smooth and speedy recovery for him! He goes into this with his head held high! As of now, his scans are scheduled for 1/31/25 and there is a possibility that he will undergo surgery on 2/3/25. Any donation goes directly to the family for any expenses that they arrive during this hard time. And any donation or share is appreciated.

Update as of 1/30/25
So after we met with the plastic surgeon he took us over to oncology. We met with Dr Patel in oncology. She ordered tests,we have to wait for scheduling to get them done so it won't be today. The cancer is slow growing but also aggressive, we need to see where it all is.
Surgery will be within 2 weeks if not sooner, possibly the 3rd. The surgery will be to remove any sarcoma they see in the imaging as well as to get a biopsy of his lymph nodes. It will be a full day surgery and then Dom will have to stay in the hospital for a week. His jaw will be wired shut for about 3 weeks. He will have to wear a post-surgery boot for 6 weeks. Diet will consist of pureed food for up to 6 weeks. The time the jaw is wired, nutrition will be through a tube.
Dr Patel doesn't want to do any chemo or radiation unless it's absolutely necessary and the best defense against sarcoma is surgery to remove it. When this is all over, they will have to closely monitor him for 10 years for relapse.
So basically, after imaging results come back, there will be this huge surgery. Then if needed, secondary treatment with chemo and/or radiation.

Update as of 1/31/25 fromDominic’s mother:
We are all finished at the hospital and heading home. The only result we got was that the chest imaging came back good. They said i should receive more results today, but also will hear from the doctors Monday. We are tired.
