We are Reese and Mary Kay Neyland from LA, and we are helping raise funds for our friend, Dolly, who lost not only her home but every possession she had. Please consider giving to help her meet her immediate needs.

Perhaps you know Dolly… She lost her home in the Altadena Eaton Canyon fire. She fled the fire in the middle of the night, and her home since 1978 and everything in it burned to the ground. I’ve been in contact with her, and she is uncertain of where her future will be. We know that this will take a long time. In the meantime, she can use all the help she can get.

My husband and I became friends with Dolly decades ago in our church in the Pasadena area.

Dolly has been retired from her job as a schoolteacher/vice-principal in the LA Unified School District since the '90s. She raised her son as a single mom, and they live together—they both have serious health challenges.

They have insurance… But it’s gonna be a long long long time till they’re able to begin their home.

Plus think about it…, replacing necessities, and items needed… There’s a lull between the time a house burns down and FEMA kicks in,., and it’s only a three month relief program. This is to fill those voids.

She said she won’t be moving back to that community because it’s not safe. She and her son have to find somewhere else to live. And insurance only covers the building of the structure. It doesn’t cover the land

We’re all trying to figure out how to help. This is one of many ways.
