Support Dodo Bakery's Expansion Dream

Hi everyone,

We’re the family behind Dodo Bakery, a small Hong Kong-style bakery that’s been serving up fresh, nostalgic pastries and breads for the past three years. Our original 800 sq. ft. shop has been loved by the community since day one—and don’t worry, we’re not closing it! We’re just growing.

Thanks to all of your support, we’ve outgrown our space and are ready to open a second location in the heart of Philadelphia, at 510 Walnut Street. It’s a busy area full of tourists, locals, and history, and we can’t wait to bring our Hong Kong flavors to an even bigger crowd.

We’ve already signed the lease and were ready to start renovations—until we were hit with an unexpected requirement. After everything was finalized, we were told we have to use a union contractor for all the build-out work. This was never mentioned during the year-long negotiations, and the cost is way beyond what we had planned for.

As a small, family-run bakery, this sudden increase has put us in a tough spot. That’s why we’re reaching out to you—our community—for help.
