While living in a world submerged in hatred and violence, it is necessary to uplift voices of resistance and center queer and trans joy.

Dyonne and I met over a year ago in a bar in the West Village when I was casually looking for a subject to interview for the documentary course I was taking at the time. When she walked into the room dressed head to toe in a glitter suit, I knew I had to find out her story. Dyonne graciously agreed to meet (sardined into her tiny Brooklyn bedroom with a camera, sound mixer, and three person crew) and together we made the short documentary, "Off to the Races" which has screened at the Nyack International Film Festival, LGBTQ Unbordered International Film Festival, and Mount Vernon Independent Film Festival.

Feeling powerless after the November presidential election last year, I texted Dyonne, "I think we need to make a movie." Dyonne proceeded to welcome me with open arms into her world- from her bedroom, to her home bar, All Night Skate, and all the way to Chaseholm Farm's Diary Drag show in upstate NY.

Over the course of the past nine months- in bedrooms, on stages, in cow barns, and in UHauls- I've been filming the stories of a tight knit group of queer and trans drag performers in Brooklyn. As we near the end of production, it is time to raise some money so we can push this project over the finish line.

We are planning to go into post production in early 2026. With your support, we are hoping to raise $15,000 dollars to cover the cost of professional sound mixing, color grading, film festival application fees, and music licensing rights (Chappell Roan, are you out there?)

As a queer filmmaker, not only is it my passion- it is my job- to center the stories of queer and trans artists who continue to inspire us to resist.
