I started making sourdough and giving it away as an act of love — bread meant to be passed on and on. With all the strife in the world, I knew I could do more with it than just baking.
Last year, thanks to many generous people, I raised $1,300 for World Central Kitchen's efforts in Gaza. This year, I'm raising funds for Doctors Without Borders (MSF), who run field hospitals and clinics in Gaza providing emergency medical care, treating trauma and malnutrition, and delivering clean water to people with nowhere else to turn.
Baking is a slow process — I turn out about 4-5 loaves a week. But this October, I'm taking a break from the oven to walk the Camino Litoral in Portugal with some friens, my first Camino ever. It's roughly 172 miles from Porto, Portugal to Santiago de Compostela, Spain over 14 days.
It's not bread, but it's still an act of care I can offer — so I'm inviting you to sponsor my walk instead of a loaf. However the trail unfolds, I'd be honored to walk it in support of Gaza.
Thank you for backing this project, for MSF, and above all, for the people of Gaza.
All donations go directly to MSF.
Thank you all,
Kathy
