Support Dmytro's Musical Dream

My name is Dmytro Tishyn, and I am a bassoonist from Dnipro, Ukraine. Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I was born into a family of musicians—my father is a dedicated bassoonist in the Dnipro Philharmonic, my mother is a music teacher, and my older brother is a percussionist studying at the Kyiv Music Academy. Inspired by my father, I always dreamed of becoming a professional musician.
Thanks to the generosity of my guardian, Viola Kanevsky, and her family, as well as the support of many kind people, I was able to fund my first year of studies at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, where I am currently studying with the Professor Bram van Sambeek. Being here has been a life-changing experience, and I have grown immensely both as a musician and as a person. My family back in Ukraine is incredibly proud of me, and I am doing everything I can to make the most of this opportunity.
Alongside my studies, I actively perform with various student orchestras across the Netherlands, play with the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine (YsOU), and last fall, I toured the country with the Ricciotti Ensemble, bringing music to diverse audiences, including those who may not usually have access to live performances.
However, despite all my efforts, continuing my education remains a huge financial challenge. My family is doing everything they can to support me, but the tuition fees are simply too high for an average Ukrainian family to afford, especially during these difficult times. To cover my living expenses, I currently work night shifts at a hotel reception while studying during the day, but it is not enough to cover my tuition.
That is why I am reaching out for help from anyone who believes in supporting young musicians. Thank you so much for your support and for helping me get a little bit closer to achieving my dream of becoming a professional bassoon player!

From my teacher, Bram van Sambeek:
“Dima is a rare talent on the bassoon. Being his teacher, I can say that he has three important characteristics that will make him a successful bassoonist: his musicality is very natural, his technique effortlessly supports his musical ideas, and his strong work ethic nurtures those talents toward their full potential. I would appreciate it immensely if you would support his studies here!”
